Context
In 2023, the Sun Prairie Public Library hosted an event to honor the local South Asian community. The night celebrated South Asian cultures through a meet and greet with award-winning author Kashmira Sheth, yoga and Bharathanatyam dance performance, henna art services, and South Asian refreshments.

$1,500+
raised for the library’s World Languages and Cultures collection.
Research
The overall goal for this project was to show the connectedness of South Asian culture, while also honoring its diversity. The postcards use colors and patterns inspired by textiles from several South Asian countries including India, Pakistan, and Nepal. The pattern representing India is specific to the state of Gujurat, as an homage to the event’s Keynote speaker, Kashmira Sheth.
